Objective: To research the expression status of glucocorticoid receptor (GRα,GRβ) mRNA in the transcriptional level and determine its clinical significance of acute severely craniocerebral trauma patients . Methods: Peripheral blood of 40 severely craniocerebral trauma patients in department of Neurosurgery of Tongji Hospital and 15 healthy volunteers were collected .GRαand GRβmRNA were determined by semi-quantitative reverse transcriptional polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR).Results: The values of GRα/β-actin of acute severely craniocerebral trauma group on 1d, 4d, 7d were 0.36±0.05, 0.52±0.03, 0.61±0.04 respectively and was lower than that of control group (0.62±0.03) in 1d after trauma (P<0.05) .The values of GRβ/β-actin of acute severely craniocerebral trauma group on 1d, 4d, 7d were 1.01±0.03,0.62±0.05,0.59±0.07 respectively and was higher than that of control group (0.60±0.06) in 1 d after trauma (P<0.05)Conlusion : In this study, we observed that the expression of GRα,GRβmRNA in the peripheral blood leucocytes of acute severely craniocerebral trauma patients were related with injury time . The higher expression level of GRβmay play an important role in the process of glucocorticoid resistance in acute severely craniocerebral trauma patients .
