The Application Of PDCA Circulation In Nurse Management

PDCA circulation namely management circulation was put forward by Dr..W.E.Deming who one of the mosr famous and influential advocates of total quality management in the 20th century early 1950s ,therefore called"Deming criulation",which is abbreviated"Dai Ming Ring".PDCA circulation theory was initial applied to business management and have achieved good results,then was considered as a effective methods of management.Documents of PDCA circulation shows that the theory has been used for many nursing managers to quality control,evaluation and practice.Nursing is an important component of overall hospital medical work.The quality of nursing reflects the level of hospital care and the level of the quality of hospital management.And directed related to the patient`s life,health and the satisfactory level to nursing work,even it play an important role in hospital development.PDCA circulation in the widespread application of nursing work,but the PDCA circulation in research of nursing technical operations,intensive care and nurse foundamental theory have not been reported.Therefore this issue apply PDCA circulation in the five important nursing management aspects of basic nursing, intensive care,nursing technical operations,nursing document writing and nurse foundamental theory level.To discuss the effects of PDCA circulation in nursing management,And to achieve the purpose of improving nursing management.INFORMATION AND METHODSInformation from th FAW Genreal Hospital (fourth Jilin University Hospital),the preparation do beds 718,nuress 497 people.On the study of 2005,5—2007,10 patients and cinical nurses PDCA circulation, and to sutdy the impact of PDCA for basic nursing care pass rate,document wirting pass rate,technical operations pass rate,intensive care pass rate and nurses basic theory examination pass rate.PDCA circulation is Plan,Do,check and action. PCDA circulation namely management circulation that be divided into four phase which Plan phase,Do phase,Check phase and Action phase ,which make them interact and circulate,constant improvement is the core of PDCA circulation.Nursing management in the implementation of PDCA circulation,To imlement the PDCA circulation in five important aspects which basic nursing,intensive care,technology operations,nurse documentation (temperature sheets,medical-care,record single)writting and nurse basic theoretical level.RESULTS1.After implementing PDCA circulation management,basic nursing pass rate markedly improved ,the two groups is statistically significant difference (p<0.05). 2.After implementing PDCA circulation ,the pass rate of temperature sheets,medical-care and record single have been significant improved,the statistical tests,all have significant differences (p<0.01). 3.After implementing PDCA circulation management,technical operations pass rate has been markedly improved,the two comparison,a statistically significant difference (p<0.01). 4.After implementing PDCA group the intensive care level pass rate markedly improved,between the two groups,with statistically significant differences (p<0.05). 5.After implementing PDCA circulation management,nurse basic theory examination pass rate has been markedly improved,the two compared with statistically significant difference (p<0.01) .Conclusion1. Basic nursing in the implementation of PDCA circulation,can increase basic nursing pass rate.2.Document writting in the implementation of PDCA circulation,can increase the rate of qualified nursing written document .3.Nursing technical operation in the implementation of PDCA circulation, can increase the pass rate of nursing technical operations.4.Intensive care level in the implementation of PDCA circulation , can improve intensive care level pass rate.5.Nurse basic theoretical level in the implementation of PDCA circulation,can increase nurse basic theory examination pass rate.After implemeting PDCA circulation ,the five pass rate of important targets which basic nursing,intensive nursing,technology operation,nursing document writting and basic theory examination of nurse all have been improved obviously.Thus enhancing the nursing management efficiency,enhance the overall hospital care quality,improved patient satisfacting, PDCAcirculatin is the most effective way in nursing management.
