Objective: To discuss the common causes of dizziness and vertigo by detecting the stenosis incidence of the cerebral arteries and serebrovascular reactivity in 156 dizziness and vertigo patients with CDFI and TCD.Methods: A total of 204 patients were divided into three grops according to the clinical symptom, the extracranial segment of the cerebral arteries(CCA,ICA,VA) and intracranial arteries(ACA,MCA,PCA,V-BA) were observed when calm breathe and holding back breath(>15 S) with CDFI and TCD. The velocity and vasomotor reactivity were analysed. Results: 1.To tally 156 patients without serious neurological symptoms, Vassular stenosis incidence was 9.30% in patients with dizziness and was 26.31% in patients with vertigo, The incidences of simple anterior circulation and simple posterior circulation stenosis were 3.38% / 5.26% and 5.92%/ 18.41% in dizziness and vertigo respectively; It has statistical different (p<0.05)between simple anterior circulation stenosis and simple posterior circulation stenosis in vertigo. but It has less statistical different (p>0.05)between simple anterior circulation stenosis and simple posterior circulation stenosis in dizziness. So the stenosis of V-BA is magnifant in vertigo. The Vassular stenosis incidence of extracranial segment of the cerebral arteries and intracranial arteries was common in dizziness and vertigo. 2. dizziness, vertigo and health check-up The mean flow velocity of common carotid artery and internal carotid artery was indifference is statistical significance while be calm breath(P<0.05). The vasomotor reactivity of common carotid artery was statistical significant difference only between vertigo and healthy(P=0.004< 0.05), The difference were statistical significant about vasomotor reactivity of internal carotid artery among dizziness vertigo and healthy(P=0.000; P=0.000).3. dizziness, vertigo and health check-up with HT and DM was 66 and 8 respectively, the incidence with HT and DM was 42.3% and 20.8%, P=0.007<0.05, the difference was statistical significance between two groups. Conclusions: the stenosis incidence of the cerebral arteries is high in vertigo patients than dizziness patients and the stenosis of V-BA is magnifant.the vasomotor reactivity of dizziness and vertigo patients is slower than healthy check-up. HT and DM were correlated significantly with dizziness and vertigo.
