The Relation Of The Degree Of Hypertension Retinopathy To The Angle Of Retina Artery Branch In Hypertension Patients

Objective :to explore the relation of the degree of the hypertension retinopathy to the angle of the retina artery branch in hypertension patients.Methods :111cases (111 eyes) which were examined by scanning laser fundus fluoresceine angiography from June. 2005 to Feb. 2007 were divided into three groups, All patients were diagnosed primary hypertension, and also divided into three groups: 43cases were in state ofⅠperiod (group A); 38 cases were in state ofⅡperiod (group B); and 30 cases were in period ofⅢ(group C). All patients were examined by the most advanced presently Herdbeg-Ⅱfluorescin Angiography system. The number of the cases in period of IV was little , and not taken. We measured the third supratemporal and infratemporal artery branch angle of retina in the right eye with Photoshop8.0 software, and analyzed the data with SPSS11 software. Summary statistics were expressed as mean±SEM in all figures and differences among the groups were estimated by t-test .The result: (1)The angle of the third supratemporal artery branch of group A,group B,group C was 61.4±17.6°,71.3±16°and 87.5±19.5°separately. It can be seen the difference of the third supratemporal artery branch angle of group A and group B was significant ( t=2.635 p<0.05 ). So was the difference between the groupC and the groupB( t=3.766 p<0.05)(2) The angle of the third infratemporal artery branch of group A,group B,group C was 62.5±19°,72.3±18.5°and 86.0±18.7°separately. It can be seen the difference of the third infratemporal branch artery angle of group A and group B was significant (t =2.345, P<0.05). So was the difference between the groupC and the groupB(t =3.019, P<0.05)(3)The worse the the degree of the hypertension retinopathy was,the more obvious the difference of the angle of the retina artery branch was.(4)There was no difference between the third infratemporal and supratemporal artery branch angle of the group A,B and C.(p>0.05)Conclusions:(1) The angle of the third retina artery branch is correlative with the course of the hypertension retinopathy.(2)The worse the the degree of the hypertension retinopathy was,the more obvious the difference of the angle of the retina artery branch was.
