We select traditional Chinese medicine radix salvia miltiorrhizae, radix scutellariae, radix sophorae flavescentis and rhizoma coptids by reviewing past literature of traditional Chinese medicine in treatment of acne vulgaris and study the mechanism of them in treatment of acne vulgaris. We cultivate the SZ95 sebocytes cell with cryptotanshinone, tanshinone IIA, berberine, baicalin, matrine and observe the effects of cryptotanshinone and other traditional Chinese medicines on the lipid synthesis of SZ95 sebocytes and the effcts on the lipid fractions of SZ95 sebocytes . We find tanshinone IIA and baicalin may have a direct effects on lipid synthesis in sebocytes and traditional Chinese medicines may have an effect on lipogenesis of different lipid fractions, which help to explain the possible mechanisms of them in treating acne.
