Objections The aim of this study was to investigate the changes of cytokines in the systemic inflammatory response syndrome(SIRS)animals and to explore the mechanism of SIRS,MODS.Methods SD rats were randomly divided into two groups.Group A:rats received no shock(n=20);group B:rats received zymosan injection(i.p. n=30).The indexes of the test include:behaviors and symptoms, vital signs, arterial partial pressure of oxygen(PaO2),PaO2/FiO2,pathological alteration of lung, liver and small intestine, levers of cytokine(TNF-α,IFN,IL-4,IL-10, IL-18)in alveolar macrophage and serum. Results Significant variation of behaviors and symptoms, vital signs,PaO2 and PaO2/FiO2 were observed in group B compared with group A.Severe damages were observed in lung, liver and small intestine in group B.TNF-α,IFN,IL-4, IL-10,IL-18 expressions in alveolar macrophage and Serum were dramatic increased in group B compared with group A(P<0.05).Conclusion Received zymosan injection can be used to set up a simple animal model for SIRS to study the cytokine and mechanism of SIRS.These findings provide some experimental basis for the clinical study of MODS.
