Rapid Prototyping (RP) and Reverse Engineering (RE) are advanced forming and processing technology that is followed with interest by researchers and manufacture in recent years. And also, the integration between RP and medical CT technology has brought a great influence to medical field. At present, home and abroad pay more attention to functionality surgery and functionality restitution which are considered as hot spot topic, and Face & Jaw deformity and the restore of lower jawbone defect are always considered as the major study in oral cavity Face & Jaw surgery field. To fit for this tide, this thesis is integrated application the uptodate achievement of RP, Medical Image Technology, Computer Graphics and CAD Technology; brings forward a preliminary solution to the key technology of rapid prototyping technology on clinical medicine application.The paper integrated used Mimics and MATLAB to carry out the treatment performance with the medical fault CT images such as smoothed filtering, morphology filtering, image harpening, edge extracting and so on. It established a new kind of image processing model which based on medical CT of skeleton, and it is named CTMM image processing model. CTMM image processing model has much predominance. For example, it has better disposal effect with available separating bones and parenchyma than other ways, it makes the pretreatment and 3D reconstructed of medical CT image of skeleton easier to master, it can greatly reduce the workload of data processing, it convenients for using, and it also provides beneficial reference to dealing with medical CT image of skeleton for the future. The paper takes the advantage of CTMM image processing model, it can carry out the well processed images'three-dimensional reconstruction by means of Mimics, and finally build the STL file which can be discriminated by rapid prototyping equipment, and use the rapid prototyping technology to produce the corresponding resin model or powder model of the restored body which can do some basic work in making silica gel model and restored titanium alloy body that can apply for operation at later stage. The paper sums up and analyses the technics'problems in the process of manufacturing by SLA and SLS, such as the selection of prototyping orientation, warp deforming, and step effect, and it also brings forward some corresponding effective ameliorative measures. It introduces the idiographic operation and correlative parameter setting of SLA and SLS in this paper, and it produces the resin model by SLA and powder model by SLS of the same STL file of mandible, and compares these two kinds of rapid prototyping technics.
