Objective: To clarify the natural course of Colletotrichum dematium(C. dematium) keratitis in rabbit model, and to study the morphological property in vitro of C. dematium.Metheods: We observed the morphological property of C. dematium during cultivation in different temperature and medium. The susceptibility of frequently used antifungal agents against C. dematium was measured by the broth microdilution antifungal susceptibility. The C. dematium keratitis in rabbit model was created, then we observed the pathopoiesis course.Result: In the present study, we found the optimal temperature and medium for growth of C. dematium. We understood the susceptibility of antifungal agents against C. dematium. The animal model demonstrated the pathopoiesis course of C. dematium in keratitis,Conclusion: In vitro, the optimal temperature and mediums for growth of C. dematium was respectively 28℃and PDA,CDA and CMA. C. dematium was sensitive to frequently used antifungal agents. In cornea stroma C. dematium growed vertically.
