The Research Of Herd's Immune System Modeling

Immunology is an intensively discussed topic in the field of life science. Immune system isa complex and adaptive system. It protects organism from the inroad of exoteric viruses. Byusing the mathematical model to study immune system, we can get a better understanding ofimmune system. In this paper, we studied and discussed the problems in the field of immunityby combining the Penna model (one of population dynamics models) and shape-space model(one of immune system models).A brief overview of the main work and discussion is introduced:Firstly, in this paper, we studied and summarized the constituent, structure, mechanism andproperty of immune system roundly. We discussed the complexity of immune system andproblems, such as how the immune system protects the organism, how the immune systemprogresses rapidly.Secondly, in this paper, we introduced many different kinds of immune system modelsfrom the biological view, such as shape-space model, cellular automaton model, multi-agentmodel and so on. Moreover, we introduced the development of immune system models andtheir character and application.Thirdly, we studied and discussed the problems in the field of immunity by combining themodified Penna model, one of population dynamics models, and shape-space model, one ofimmune system models. In this paper, each individual is represented by Penna model with animmune system. In order to study how the infection and immunity influences the survivalprocess, we modify the Verhulst factor. Then, we present the results of our simulations, anddiscuss the evolution of population and the effect of immunity respectively. In addition, westudy the effect of memory of immune system and the effect of vaccination under differentconditions.Finally, we gave a conclusion of herd's immune system model. We found that the memoryof immune system, the progress of immune system and the vaccination is very useful formaintaining the population of a herd, under the effect of viruses.
