Objective:Treating the nano-SiO2 particle by silicon coupling reagent, functionalize theSiO2 by making double bond on its surface. Polymerizing on the surface of nano-SiO2surface by the method called emulsion polymerization, the nano-SiO2 is covered bypolymer to get the PMMA-KH-570-nano-SiO2 complex material. Test the surfacestructure of the surface of nano-SiO2 by FTIR, and test sort of its mechanicalperformances. Comparing the treated nano-SiO2 which is directly dispended in thePMMA emulsion with the SiO2 without any treatment (control group), we are tryingto find an effective method which can not only increase the dispersion of SiO2, butalso improve the mechanical performance of the artificial teeth.Method:1 Draft PMMA with the nano-SiO2 which is already treated by the couplingreagent KH-570 to get the pre-polymer, and melt it to get the standard experimentalgroup.2 Dispense the SiO2 which is treated by KH-570 into PMMA emulsion, andmelt it to get the standard control group.3 Make PMMA by lab method, and get the standard blank group 1.4 Make the dental base acrylic resin powder into the standard blank group 2.5 Test the performance of the treated-SiO2 by FTIR.6 Test the performance of the drafted nano-complex by FTIR.7 Test the mechanical performance of that four standard group, and analyze theComplex materials by visual microscope and electronic microscope. Deal with thedata by statistic method, and compare the mechanical performance of those threegroups. Finally, demonstrate and analyze the mechanism of the PMMA draftednano-SiO2. Result:1 FTIR: It was proved by FTIR that the SiO2 surface is bonded with thecoupling reagent KH-570 successfully, and based on that macromolecule PMMA iscovered. We successfully increase the dispersion of nano-SiO2 in PMMA.2 We observed the incision of nano-complex through the SEM, it achived thenano-class dispersion.3 It was tested that the mechanical performance of the drafted nano-complex is98.7% more than the blank group.Conclusion:1 The method that draft coupling reagent KH-570 on the nano-SiO2 surface isefficient and effective. There is a reaction between the coupling reagent and SiO2surface, and the dispersion of SiO2 in PMMA is also increased.2 PMMA could be drafted on the nano-SiO2 which is treated by KH-570, andthe resulting complex material could further increase the mechanical performance ofartificial teeth.3 Although the resulting complex PMMA-KH-570-SiO2 has better mechanicalperformance than the PMMA, comparing the clinic dental base acrylic resin powder, the improvement is still not good. We still need to improve the method to get betterresult comparing the clinic dental base acrylic resin powder.
