| Objective: To modify and better the existing database system;to enhance its functions of data collection,statistics and analysis so that it may be applied in diagnosis,treatments and statistics of congenital heart defects;to evaluate its stabilization and accuracy.Method: Under the direction of STS&EACTS nomenclature and database project, to modify and better the existing 1.0 congenital heart disesase database system with Visual FoxPro software 9.0 edition.The database software is composed of six components: data management, data input, data inquiry, statistic, data output& print and export module. In order to make aggregate statistics and superior analysis, the details of overall patient care process are investigated.To evaluate database system in clinical practice,the infos of 173 patients of complex congenital heart defects admitted to Pediatric Cardiothoracic Department of 2nd Xiangya Hospital in 2006 are inputted into the database and SPSS 15.0 for windows respectively and compared to each other for accuracy.Results: 1. Data is intact and accordant with international standard.Inquiry and statistics module are further enhanced, output forms various and active,while management and expansion of system convenient.2. Statistical results inquired with database software are completely the same as inquired with SPSS statistical package.Conclusion: The modified 1.1 edition of the congenital heart disease database system is more perfect,stable,efficient and convenient. |
