Experimental Study On The Effect Of Changningtang In Immunologic Function Of Rats With Ulcerative Colitis

Objective: Investigating the therapeutic mechanism ofChangningtang by observing the pathological process in colon, IL-4and MDA in serum of rats with ulcerative colitis.Method: 60 female rats were derided into 5 groups randomly:blanks, models, controls ,low-dose and high-dose of Changningtang.All models were set up by coloclysis of mix of TNBS (100mg/kg)and 50% alcohol solution0.25ml. 3 days later, models were treated withdistilled water 2ml/day, controls with SASP, low and high dose groupswith either concentration of Changningtang. 5 weeks later, serum andpathological samples were taken .Pathological samples were observedin microscope, IL-4 and MDA were also detected.Result: IL-4 in Changningtang groups were higher than modelsgroup significantly(P＜0.05) and did not get a significantdifference with SASP group. The high dose group of Changningtang gota significant higher content than the low dose group. MDA inChangningtang groups were lower than models group significantly(P＜0.05) and did not get a significant difference with SASP group.The high dose group of Changningtang got a significant lower contentthan the low dose group.Conclusion: It showed Changningtang have a therapeutic effecton the ulcerative colitis of rats. It was able to rise the contentof IL-4 and decrease the content of MDA in ulcerative colitis of rats.Possible mechanism is regulating the balance of cytokines andrestricting the inflammation caused by oxygen free radical:...
