Objective To study H19 imprinting gene expression in cervical carcinoma in order to explore the relationship between the H19 gene and its significance. Methods H19 gene expression was detected by RFLP methods and RT-PCR methods in 32 samples of cervical carcinoma, 24 samples of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia(CIN pathology stageâ… stage 8 samples,â…¡stage 7 samples,â…¢stage 9 samples, include 7 samples of carcinoma-in situ) and 21 samples of normal cervical tissues. Results The positive rate of H19 gene was 78.13% , 12.50% (but carcinoma-in situ was 25%) and 0% respectively in cervical carcinoma, cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and normal cervical tissues. However, the expression level of H19 mRNA was positively related with differentiation of degree, pathological stages of tumors, recurrence and transference. (p<0.05).Conclusion H19 gene expression was a valuable index for the prognosis of cervical carcinoma, should be a new tumor suppressor gene.
