Objectives:1. To investigate the predisposing factors of pregnancy and Vulvovaginal Candidiasis to givetheoretical basements on how to prevent it.2. To observe the influences and the possible mechanisms of treatment of pregnancy andVulvovaginal Candidiasis in preventing premature rupture of membraneMaterials and Methods:1. To investigate 270 voluntary pregnancy women regularly checking body in our obstetricalout-patient about the predisposing factors of pregnancy and Vulvovaginal Candidiasis byquestionnaire face to face between Jun, 2005 and Dec, 2005.2. To treat voluntary pregnancy women by Daktarin or Clotrimazole which are regularlychecking body in our obstetrical out-patient between Oct, 2005 and Dec, 2006. Following up thepatients with or without treatment to observe the pregnancy outcome and have amniotic fluid andfetal membrane to cultivate and confirm Candida species.3. To explore the expression of MMP-9 and TIMP-1 in fetal membrane of patients with orwithout treatment. In addition, to compare them with patients 'of premature rupture of membraneor normal delivery.Results:1. The logistic regressive analysis shows possible predisposing factors including wearing tightclothes, the age of the first sexual behavior, physical exercises and so on.2. One specimen has been infected by C.Krusei in the team of pregnancy and VulvovaginalCandidiasis without treatment and no specimens have infected by Candidias in the team ofpregnancy and Vulvovaginal Candidiasis with treatment though the cultivating and confirmingCandida species of amniotic fluid and fetal membrane.3. Expression of MMP-9 and MMP-9/TIMP-1 in fetal membranes of patients with term prematurerupture of membranes and those having pregnancy and Vulvovaginal Candidiasis without treatment is significantly higher than that in membranes of normal delivery team and pregnancyand Vulvovaginal Candidiasis with treatment team. Expression of MMP-9 and MMP-9/TIMP-1 infetal membranes of patients having pregnancy and Vulvovaginal Candidiasis with treatment issignificantly higher than that in membranes of normal delivery team. Expression of TIMP-1 infetal membranes of four teams has no significance.Conclusion:1.It is benefit for pregnant women to prevent the pregnancy and Vulvovaginal Candidiasis bywearing clothes less tighter, having good hygeian habits, having fist sexual behavior older anddoing physical exercises.2. The pregnancy and Vulvovaginal Candidiasis could cause the term premature rupture ofmembrane and treatment is useful to prevent it.3. Candidias could infect the amniotic fluid through fetal membrane without rupture, but themorbidity and the influences to the fetal need more research.
