Objective:Elective surgery and anesthesia represent a considerable source ofanxiety for the patients. Many attempts have been made to prepare patientbefore surgery with aim of reducing anxiety and making people feel better. We study the effects of the information leaflets about anesthesia on thepreoperative anxiety and cooperation of patients with selectedintraspinal anesthesia. In order to find a good way to facilitate patientsto get some important informations about anesthesia, and make patientsfeel more relaxed before surgery and cooperate better.Method:180 selected patients undergoing the surgery of inferior belly andextremitas with intraspinal anesthesia were involved. All patients wererandomly divided into 2 groups, experimental group (n=84) and controlgroup (n=96), ASAâ… -â…¢, no psychiatric history and no recent use ofantidepressants and sedatives history, no anesthesia and surgicalhistory, the time from the patient' s admission to operation all lessthan 3 days. In the day before surgery, experimental group, beside thepreanesthetic evaluation and routine physical examination, the patientswere asked to read leaflets about anaesthesia and communicate with theanesthetist on something that they care about. The patients of controlgroup, were received the preanesthetic evaluation and routineexamination only. All patients were asked not to use sedatives in theevening before surgery. We recorded the SBP. DBP. HR of all patients inward and before the anaesthesia procedur; the visual analogue scale ofanxiety (Anxity-VAS) of all the patients before anaesthesia interviewand before the anaesthesia procedur; the condition of patients' s sleepbefore surgery, we also recorded the time cost of paients make theintraspinal anesthesia pose; whether the pose need to be adjusted; whether the patient try to escape the puncture; how many times did the anesthetist do the punctureuntilehe succeed; the visual analogue scaleof pain(Pain-VAS) of patients during the anaesthesia procedur.Result:1. Compared with the control group, the hnxity-VAS of experimentalgroup patients had no statistically significan difference beforeanaesthesia interview, but lower before the anaesthesia procedur2. Compared with the control group, the SBP, DBP, HRof experimentalgroup patients had no statistically significan difference in ward, butlower before the anaesthesia procedur.3. Compared with the control group, the patients of experimentalgroup slept better.4. Based on the the time cost of the paients making the intraspinalanesthesia pose; whether the pose need to be adjusted; whether the patienttry to escape the puncture and how many times did the anesthetist do thepuncture untile he succeed, the patients ofexperimental group cooperatedbetter than the control group. Conclusion:Preoperative anxiety in relation to anesthesia remains for manypatients a major subject of concern. Anxiety is described as an unpleasantstate of uneasiness or tension which may be associated with abnormalhemodynamics and poor quality sleep as consequences of sympathetic, parasympathetic and endocrine stimulation. The severe anxiety could makepatients cooperate bad with anesthetist, influence the anaesthesiaprocedur. Provide the leaflets about anaesthesia is a good way to getpatients know more about anaesthesia and anesthetist, decrease thepatients anxiety and make them cooperate better.
