Objectives:To evaluate whether six-weeks rehabilitation exercises can improvethe exercise capacity and the quality of life in patients with chronic heartfailure (CHF) treated by drug.Subjects and Methods:We studied 50 patients (Heart Function NYHAⅡ-Ⅲ) with CHF.Patients were randomized into two groups.Experimental group: Twenty-five patients with CHF were receivedsix-weeks rehabilitating exercise as well as regular treatments.Control group: Other Twenty-five patients with CHF were receivedregular treatments. At the third day and the forty-fifth day all patients underwent thedistance of six-minites walk text, finished time and METS of exercisetesting, the sore of life questionnaire of Minnesota in heart failuresubjects, and all patients were measured BNP and LVEF.Results:At 6 weeks, Classification of heart function, the distance ofsix-minites walk text extension, finished time of exercise testing andMETS of exercise testing were all improved from baseline inexperimental group (p<0.05). And at 6 weeks, finished time of exercise testing and METS of exercise testing were all improved from baseline incontrol group (p<0.05). The sore of life questionnaire of Minnesota inheart failure subjects were decreased in experimental group and controlgroup (p<0.05). After treating, those were increased signifiantly inexperimental group compared to the control group (p<0.01). However, the level of brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) and LVEF didn't decreasedin experimental group and control group (p>0.05). After treating, theydidn't decreased in experimental group compared to the control group(p>0.05).Conclusion:The rehabilitation exercise can effectively improve the exercisecapacity and the quality of life of the chronic heart failure (CHF) patientstreated by drug. But the level of BNP and LVEF has no changes.
