The biological characteristic recognition technology is close to people more and more with the rapid growth of technology. Biological characteristic recognition technology is a kind of special technology to authenticate people's identity and could be identified. A large number of experiments verified that the biological characteristic is unique. It is difficult to be copied or stolen science the characteristic belongs to one's own. Although the technology of fingerprint the fingerprint is easy to be recognition has been very mature, but there are some shortcomings such as damaged by pollution and lake of inherent information .Therefor, we are going to study on the recognition of the dorsal hand vein.This dissertation consists of the three main aspects .First, we introduce the subject's background, purpose and meaning of dorsal hand vein recognition, the superiority is pointed out .Next, we introduce the classification of human the method of vein recognition,the advantages shortcomings and the applications value re also presented .we also seek for and summarize the works exited for vein pattern recognition .At last, based on summing up the works exited ,we put forward new method for the preprocessing for dorsal hand vein image . Scince the classical preprocessing method for vein image will fuzzy the edge as smoothing the image ,yet the PDE based method can present the edge as smoothing .we turn back to seek for a PDE based method .we based on the Perona-Malik equtionTo choose the coefficient suitably ,arrive the requirement for smoothing and edge preserving .throughout the analysis of the characteristic of the vein image, we put forward the following coefficient function the improve the P-M model.At last of the dissertation ,we carry out the numerical simulation and to vague the result by PSNR method .The result shows that the improved P-M method model presents good performance in the preprocessing for the dorsal hand vein.
