| Objectives:Condyloma acuminatum(CA) is one of the most common sexually transmitteddisease(STDs), its disease incidence is increasing quickly in these years. CA is causedby human papilloma virus(HPV), the key feature is epithelial cells paraplasm. Atpresent, most research believed that CA is caused most likely by HPV6 and HPV11type, partly by HPV16, 18, 30, 31,33 type, and so on. The abnormal expression andactivation of wnt-1 could revoke cells proliferation uninterrupt and promote thegeneration and progression of tumor, secreted Frizzled Related Protein-1(sFRP-1) isone of inhibiting factors of wnt-1 signal way, it could inhibit cell proliferation causedby wnt-1, and promote apoptosis at the same time. In this study, we usePolymerase-chain reaction (PCR) to investigate the human papilloma virus (HPV)6/11, 16/18 type infections and the expressions of secreted Frizzled RelatedProtein-1(sFRP-1), wnt-1 and significances of apoptosis in patients with condylomaacuminatum(CA). To analyze apoptotic(AI) and the expressions of sFPR-1 and wnt-1,and explore their possible role in the pathogenesis of CA. Results:The rates of HPV6/11 and HPV16/18 infection were 90%(18/20) and 10%(2/20)in CA respectively. No any HPV6/11 and/or HPV16/18 was detected in normalforeskin tissues, no any mixed pattern infection of HPV6/11 and HPV16/18 wasdetected; the positive rate of sFRP-1 protein expression in the CA was 20% (4 of 20),in normal foreskin tissue was 100% (15 of 15), so the expression of sFRP-1 in CAspecimens was significantly weaker than that in normal epithelium tissues (P<0.001);while the positive rate of wnt-1 protein expression in the CA was 80% (16 of 20),in normal foreskin tissue was 33.33% (5 of 15), wnt-1 in CAwas higher than that innormal epithelium tissues (t=0.013, P<0.05); the detection rate of the apoptotic index(AI) in CA specimens was 75%(15 of 20), in normal foreskin tissue was 13.33(2 of15), AI in CA tissue was significantly higher than that in normal foreskintissue(P<0.001).Conclusion:In the 20 CA tissues detected, HPV6/11 type infection rate was obviously higherthan HPV16/18 typs, HPV6/11 is the main malgenic virus in CA; In CA, theincreased detection of AI, sFRP-1 protein expression was lower than normal foreskintissue, wnt-1 protein expression was higher than normal foreskin tissue, the lowerexpressed sFRP-1 and over expressed writ-1 suggest that sFRP-1/wnt-1 signalingpathway in the CA organization might affect cell signal growth transduction pathway,and took part in CA pathogenic process. |
