Objective: To prilimary investigate the peri-implantitics with different implant root surfaces by dog peri-implantitics model.Methods: Four 2-3 years dogs were chose to withdrew the 2nd, 3rd and 4th premolars of both mandible and random immediately placed 3 screwed or non-screwed implants; 3 months later, 2 screwed or non-screwed implants were random chose to bind 4-0 silk at the implant neck to induce peri-implantitcs. 3 months later, clinical measurement, X-ray radiograph, Gingival crevicular fluid mount, IL-8, bone loss and histology slides were measured to study different peri-implant status. Pull-out experiment was also conducted with the rest implant.Results: There was not any lost one. Peri-implantitics were measured in 16 silk-bonding implants and not measured in non-silk-bonding group. The measure parameters were including the following: 1) Probing : group BI was greater than group AI and significant difference was found. 2) X-Ray: No shadow was detected in non-slick-bonding group and significant shadow in slick-bonding group. The bone loss amount of the non-screwed implants (group AI) was greater than that of screwed implants (group BI). 3) IL-8: there was significant different IL-8 content between silk-bonding and non-silk-bonding groups but no difference was found between group AI and group BI; 4) Histological study: chronic immune cells and local necrosis were detected in group AI but greater damage in Group BI; 5) GCF amount: there was significant difference between silk-bonding group and non-silk-bonding group, the latter group had more GCF amount. There also exist significant difference between Group AI and Group BI. 6) Pull-out experiment: significant different bone-bond strength was found between Group AI and Group BI, and the bone bond strength of Group AI was better than that of Group BI. 7) bone loss amount: More bone loss amount was detected in Group AI than Group BI and significant difference was found.Conclusions: It's great method to induce peri-implantitics by bonding silk at implant neck. Much more damage process was detected in non-screw implant thanscrew implant.
