Objiect:To study the prognostic factor and evaluate the effect of perioperative allogeneic blood transfusions on disease-free survival in non-small cell lung cancer patients treated with curative pulmonary resection; to clarify the influence of allogeneic blood transfusion on cell adhesion characteristic of plasma. Methods:Of 280 patients with non-small cell lung cancer patients treated with curative operation, 135(48.2%) received allogeneic blood products. Survival analysis included univariate Kaplan-Meier test and multivariate Cox regression model on its disease free survival.Plasma cellular adhesion characteristic of before and after blood transfusion were detected by means of MTT coloremetry in 31 malignant tumors patients and 62 non malignant tumors patients. Results:Univariate analysis showed that differentiation, age, perioperative blood transfusion, T stage, N stage, stage, Hb level, TP level, ALB level, blood transfusion sum, blood transfusion type were correlated to prognosis(P < 0.05). Multivariate analysis showed that the varieties influencing disease-free time were differentiation (P < 0. 001), stage (P = 0. 001) and perioperative blood transfusion ( P = 0. 041) .Plasma cellular adhesion characteristic of after blood transfusion were significantly higher than before. Blood transfusion can enhance the plasma cellular adhesion characteristic (P <0. 01). Conclusion:Perioperative allogeneic blood transfusion has independent, adverse survivalimpact on non-small cell lung cancer patients with curative pulmonary resection. As for the higher Plasma cellular adhesion characteristic, blood transfusion may accelerate tumor metastasis, using perioperative allogeneic blood transfusion should been avoided in non-small cell lung cancer patients. We should advocate autogenetic transfusion, component transfusion and avoid unnecessary transfusion.
