Objective:To explore the etiology,risk factors,cerebral angiography findings and prognosis of ischemic stroke in young adults.Methods : 150 young adult patients with ischemic stroke were retrospectively analyzed. The clinical data of young adults were summarized with patients above 46 years old as control group.Results : Young patients had definite RF, of which, 40.7% were hypertension, 38.7% were hyperlipemia, 39.3% were drinking, 38.0% were smoking. Angiography revealed artery stenosis in 48.8% of patients, and the majority existed in cortex. A higher cure rate (68.7%) was found in young adult ischemic stroke patients compare with patients above 46 years old.Conclusion:The male predominance in ischemic stroke patients is augmented by younger age. The frequent risk factors were hypertension,hyperlipemia,drinking and smoking . In general, young adult ischemic stroke patients present better prognosis. Male predominance existed in young adult ischemic stroke patients.
