Objective To compare and evaluate the applied research how long it should indwell Double-J Ureteral stents after Ureteroscopic lithotripsy(URSL). Method 75 cases of Ureter stone were assigned into two groups Randomly. Group A included 23 cases underwent URSL with indwelling 1 month D-J stents, and Group B included the other 52 cases received URSL with indwelling 2 months. Regular examinations of urinary symptoms, urinalysis and urine culture were performed before the stents were removed. The stents were removed under aseptic conditions. Then the proximal and distal tip segments were obtained. Through Ultrasonography, X-ray were tested of operative success rate, ureter stricture and renal hydrocele renew in preoperatively and postoperatively after the stents have been removed for 2 months. All the data were statistically analyzed afterwards. Results There were not statistical significance for the differences on levels of operative success rate, ureter stricture and renal hydrocele renew in two Groups(P>0.05). Bacteria colonies were statistically significant 48%(25/52) in Croups B(P<0.05). The common pathogen followed by E. coli. Colonnization in the stent was followed by the colonization in the urine. Thereinto 14 cases two s segments of stent delivered pathogen, 11 cases delivered distal stent pathogen. Croups B had more statistically significant suprapubic discomfort, bladder irritative symptoms and overall pain than Groups A had (P<0.05). Before the stent was removed, it was not statistically significant of red cells count and the differences with connection in stent culture (P>0.05).but wbc cells count>30/ul were statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion The urinary symptoms and colonization rate increased as the duration of indwelling became longer after URSL. There was no difference between the 1-months and 2-months indwelling stented groups with respect to complications. Group A decrease urinary infection, bladder irritative symptoms, suprapubic discomfort and that renal hydrocele renew not statistically significant.
