Cervix dilation and descending of fetal head are the most important parameters to evaluate birth process in clinical obstetrics. The two parameters should be monitored according to the standard of clinical obstetrics at home. Delivery process chart is composed of the two parameters to direct birth process. It plays a great role in scientifical birth process administering, dystocia forecasting and childbearing planning. Because of the physiological position and structure of parturient canal, and specific request in measuring, there isn't any appropriate method of long time real-time measuring for the parameters in the clinical application. At the present time, a conventional palpation is in use in a multitude of conditions at home. For the measuring result is discontinuous, it is impossible to make an accurate and dynamic observation of the whole birth progress. In addition, there is a lot of disadvantage, such as the additional workload of doctor and nurse, the uncomfortableness and the easy infection of pregnant woman. Experts and scholars abroad are confronted with the same difficuty and question.Applying electronical measuring technology, a real-time monitoring system for birth process based on the microconverter ADuC847 is presented in this paper. It presents a measure method for the parameters in birth progress by engineering with no injure or hurt. The system employs a special sensor to measure cervix dilation. The descending of fetal head is obtained by software table look-at according to the relationship between cervix dilation and descending of fetal head. The technology has declared the patents of invention and utility new-style. The clinical probation has been made out. And security and validity are up to scratch.For completing various functions, a series of products for monitoring birth progress are presented in the paper, including minitype system, desktop system and multi-bed wireless remote sensing system. The last two are the emphases. The minitype system has many functions, including real-time measurement, and parameters displaying, the sensor calibration, alarm, system setting, power voltage scale and its fist note displaying. For the convenience of reference and research in clinical obstetrics, the desktop system can storage data of the birth progress and send them to a printer, based on the functions of real-time measurement and display and so on.
