Objective:Stress a state manifested by a series of neuroendocrine reaction and subsequent functional and metabolic changes of the body developed in response to any stimuli, especially enhanced activity of the sympathetic nervous system and hypothalamo- pituitary- adrenocortical systems. Acute and chronic stress usually results in the pathological changes of tissues, especial in brain tissues, such as decreased volume of cerebral cortex and the inhibited activity of nervous system, and this may contribute to the development of disorder of learning, recognization and other neurodegenerative disease, such as dementia.Abnormal expression and distribution of AQP4 is related with the brain injury of brain diseases, but it is unclear whether AQP4 increases or not in the brain tissue induced by stressor. And it seldom reports that the changes of the activity of iNOS and the level of NO in brain tissue during stress response, and some reports are contrary.
