Objective With the changes of the people' s living standard and life style, the global incidence rate of diabetes mellitus (DM )is rapidly rising year by year, and the majority are living in the developing country. DM has the same harm as cancer and cardiovascular disease. Therefore, it is very important to search for the approach to cure and prevent DM. Since 1960' s , there are some reports about the compound of rare earths rise the serum insulin of experimental DM rats and reduce blood sugar. Low dose Lacl3 has no toxicity to the animal. In our country , there are only some reports about the effects of low dose Lacl3 on the ex vivo islet of rats , but no about in vivo. So, the object is to research the effects of the low dose Lacl3 on the pancreatic B cells of experimental DM rats, and use TUNEL to obtain the apoptosis of B-cell and study the protection and plerosis of low dose Lacl3 on the islet B-cell .Methods There are 50 healthy Male Sprague Dawly rats, the weights between 220g-250g. All of them are fasted 8 hours, then sampled from the orbit vein to measure the serum insulin and C peptide, at the same time use One Touch SureStep to measure the blood sugar of caudal vein. Inject the left lower quadrant of rats with 55mg/kg 1% STZ, after 7 days, measure the blood sugar of caudal vein. With One Touch SureStep, regard the blood sugar≥13. 9mmol/L as DM. The DM rats are randomly divided into four groups : low dose group middle dose group high dose...
