Backgroud: Enterococcus is a bacterium normally associated with humans as a member of the intestinal microflora and also an opportunistic pathogen. Enterococcus can result in many organic infection, such as urinary tract infection, skinny soft tissue infection, abdominal cavity infection, septicaemia, encarditis and meningitis and so on. Recently, the wide application of antibiotic resulted in increased drug resistance of β-lactam antibiotics and high-level aminoglycoside antibiotics, at the same time vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus had been reported. Multidrug resistant enterococcus became which rusulted in very difficult of clincal therapy, so some institutions are much concern. VRE rank among the second pathogen causing nosocomial infection, major causing nosocomial infection, breaking out and popularity of VRE happens usually to patients of serious disease and dys-immunologic function in ICU and neoplastic hematologic disorder sickroom, it is high morbidity and mortality.Five vancomycin resistance phenotypes in enterococci is VanA, VanB, VanC, VanD, VanE。the most type of VRE is VanA-type, VanA VRE presents high-level vancomycin resistance (MIC 为 64~>512mg/L) , VanA-type can be induced by vancomycin and teicoplanin. Most of E.faecium and E.feacalis is VanA-type and mediates by plasmid. VanB type resistant strains are sensitive to teicoplanin, but drug resistant level of vancomycin have quite disparation. Simultaneously it exists in E.faecalis and E.faecium. Drug resistant gene locates in chromatosome and plasmid, meanwhile drug resistant gene can transfer. VanC type drug resistance shows low-level drug resistance of vancomycin and is sensitive to teicoplanin. It is important significance that VRE genotyping is indetified with regard to...
