Objective To investigate the diagnoses and clinical characteristics , treatment and progress of the ectopic pregnancy in the uterine isthmus. Methods The management process of 21 cases of uterine isthmus pregnancies were analyzed retrospectively. Results 9 cases performed chemotherapy with MTX, 8 cases curedamong which three cases performed Ultrasonography-guided di latation and curettage, and the blood HCG of one case rised after chemotherapy , then it performed cured by bilateral super-selective UAE. 11 cases performed cured by dilatation and curettage after bilateral super-selective UAE. One of 21 cases had torrential hemorrhage when she received inducing abortion , then performed emergency UAE to control bleeding satisfactorily after being diagnosed uterine isthmus pregnancy .Conclusion Ultrasonography is a simple and reliable way todiagnose uterine isthmus pregnancy, bilateral super-selective uterine artery embolisation can quickly control bleeding ,while Trans—uterineartery chemotherapy and embolization in combination with ultrasonography —guided dilatation and curettage or uterine aspiration provide a safe and effective approach for the treatment of pregnancy in the uterine isthmus, and it can evidently shorten the time in hospital. So it is worthing popularize.
