Objective:To investigate the relation between the leves of plasma BNP and the prognosis in patients with AMI after early reperfusion therapy. Methods:The study group included 44 patients with AMI and all the patients undergone successful early reperfusion therapy. Plasma BNP concent- rations were measured in patients with AMI at admission and on days1,2,5,14 with Triage BNP test.Left ventricular end diastolic volume index(LVEDVI), Left ventricu- lar end systolic volume index(LVESVI),and Left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF) were measured by ultrasonic cardiogram at admission and on day5 and after 3 months. All patients with AMI were invided two groups after six months visits. 33 patients undergone angina or myocardial infarction again or death as the event group,11patients undergone non cardial event as the control group, and 10 healthy man as non-event group. Results:The plasma BNP concentration were significantly higher in patients with AMI than those in non-event group at admission and on days 1,2,5and14(p<0.01 p<0.01 p<0.01 p<0.01 p<0.01). The BNP leves in event group were higher than those in control group at the same time (p<0.01).In control group only one peak of BNP values was detected ,but two peak of BNP values were detected in event group .The LVEF in event group were higher than those in control group at admission and on day5 and after 3 months (p<0.05 p<0.05 p<0.05).Conclusions:The plasma BNP concentration increased siginifi cantly in patients with AMI. The value of plasma BNP concentr- ation is important to prognosis in patiets with AMI.
