Abstract/Summary:
Object: Few attempts have been made to observe liver function and histological change of selective bile duct embolization with an animal experimental study, in order to investigate the feasibility, effect and mechanism of embolization and to search for a new intervention therapy for cholangiocarcinoma.Methods: Healthy male New Zealand white rabbits were divided into three groups(A, B, C group), it's control group, cyanoacrylate embolism group and absolute ethanol embolism group. Through a venipuncture needle cannulated into the bile duct of right lobe, absolute ethanol or cyanoacrylate was injected into rabbits. Compared with normal control group, liver was grossly, microscopically and ultramicroscopically observed after treament. Proliferative cell nuclear antigen(PCNA) was measured in the nonembolized lobes. Liver function was tested by the day.Resulds: 1. Control group has no morphological and histological changes, the weight of liver after treatment is equivalent to original value.In cyanoacrylate embolism group and absolute ethanol embolism group, right lobe turn paleness immediately.Atrophy, shrunken volume, harder texture were observed in the embolized lobes 30 days after treatment.In microscopically, the interlobular bile ducts of embolized lobes and structure of liver lobes were destroyed, hepatocyte died out,...
