Objective To investigate the abnormal expressions of β-cat, cyclin Dl and c-myc and its Significance in carcinogenesis and progression of human cervical invasive squamous carcinomas. Methods Semi-quantitative immuno-cyto-chemistry was used to examine the expressions of β-cat, cyclin D1 and c-myc in 50 cases of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and 50 cases of squamous carcinomas. 50 cases of the normal cervical tissues served as controls. Results the expression rates of β-cat, cyclin D1 and c-myc in the normal cervical tissues, cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and squamous carcinomas had significantly difference respectively. The abnormal expression rates of β-cat and the high expression rates of cyclin D1 and c-myc had a parallel relationship with the cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and squamous carcinomas, were correlated to the extent of differentiation (r=0.999). Positive frequency of expression of β-cat was resperent in the normal cervical tissues,.and was low in the cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and squamous carcinomas.Positive frequency of expression of cyclin D1 and c-myc were 2%(1/50), 32%(16/50), 58%(29/50), 8%(4/50), 40%(20/50) 68%(34/50). in the cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and squamous carcinomas significantly (P<0.01). Conclusions The abnormal expressions of β-cat activite and result in uncontrolled proliferation and differentiation, which may play an important role in the carcinogenesis and progression of human cervical invasive squamous carcinomas .The abnormal expressions...
