Maternal CYP1A1 Mspâ…  Polymorphism And The Risk Of Hypospadias

Objectives: To assess the possible association of the Msp I polymorphism of maternal cytochrome P4501A1(CYP1A1) gene and risk factors with hypospadias Materials and Methods: the 30 eligible mothers who had male children with hypospadias and 30 mothers who has male children without any malformation were selected.They are of Han Nationality in Jiangxi province.Risk factor informations of maternal characteristics that may cause hypospadias included maternal age at delivery, smoking history at the time of pregnancy ,infant weight at delivery and so on, were collected by questionnaire. Polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) was employed to study the 3 genotypes m1m1 m1m2 and m2m2 in 3'-flanking region of CYP1A1 in blood sample and then analyze the frequencies. Statistical analysis was performed using multivariate unconditional Logistic regression analyses for evaluation of the data. Results: The frequencies of two alleles(m1,m2) were significant difference between the two groups.
