Purpose: To investigate the reasons that the quantity of tumor infiltrating lymphocyte(TIL) is higher and the mechanism of better prognosis in hereditary nonpolyposis colorectal cancer(HNPCC) compared with sporadic colorectal carcinoma(SCRC), also the immune escape function of Fas/FasL in HNPCC.Methods: The expression of Fas/FasL protein and the quantity and distribution of TIL was detected in 20 cases of HNPCC and 20 cases of SCRC and then compared with 10 cases of normal colorectal tissue.Results:1. The expression of Fas protein in HNPCC is similar to that in SCRC(P>0.05) and lower than in normal colorectal tissue(P<0.05) and correlated with the clinical Dukes stages and lymph node metastasis(P<0.05) , but not with the type of carcinoma histology(P>0.05).2. The expression of FasL protein in HNPCC is lower significantly than in SCRC(P<0.05) and higher than in normal colorectal tissue(P<0.05) and correlated with the type of carcinoma histology(P<0.05), but not with the clinical Dukes stages and lymph node metastasis(P>0.05).3. The cell count of TIL in HNPCC is higher than in SCRC and...
