Benign prostatic hyperpiasia (BPH) is a disease which troubles the old man With the aging Population and improvement of living condition ,the morbidity of BPH is gradully rising.The clinical manifestations of BPH are dysuresia ,urinary tract infection and its complications.the acute urinary retention is the frequent and comparatively severe complication ,which seriously affect the life quality of the old men.Blood pressure and heart rate may rise when acute urinary retention happens,which can leads to heart and cerebral vascular accident endangering the life of the patients .Before the patients showing up the acute urinary retention ,finding a reliable indicator which can acurately predict the happening of the acute urinary retention and controll the disease and follow up the patients with acute urinary retention are very important.Objective:To investigate whether the age ,total prostate volume (TPV ) transition zone volume and index (TZV and TZI) are concerned with the acute urinary retention in patients with BPH.To study whether the total prostate volume and transition zone volume are associated with the age.Methods : Collecting the clinical datum of 63 patients with BPH from Apr.2005 to Mar.2006 in the First affiliated hospital of NanChang...
