Observation On The Inflammatory Reaction And Ossification After Nano-hydroxyapatite Bone And Muscle Implantation

Objective: The inflammatory reaction from and effects of nano-hydroxyaptite bone and muscle implantation is observed to find out the biological characteristics as the experimental evidences for the clinic selection of materials to repair bone defects.Methods: (1) Bone and muscle implanting experiment: 18 New Zealand rabbits were randomly divided into three groups: Porous nano-hydroxyapatite implanting group, Glucomannan/nano- hydroxyapatite implanting group and open-close group. The graft group was set to rule out the affection of surgical procedure, nano-hydroxyapatite and Glucomannan/ nano-hydroxyapatite implantation on rabbits' femur and quadriceps femoris muscle. Two weeks, four weeks, six weeks and eight weeks after the surgeries, the animals were put to death to observe the general and local inflammatory reaction. (2) HE staining: by HE staining of the bone and muscle implanting samples, the infiltration of inflammatory cells and fibrocyte multiplication was observed and statistics of was made so a inflammatory cells to obtain information about the inflammatory reaction variation and difference, by HE staining of the muscle implanting samples, the infiltration and degree of inflammatory cells was observed. (3) Masson staining: by Masson staining of the bone implanting samples, the ossification was observed, and the ossification areas were measured for comparison of the three group of ossification.
