Objective: To analyze the nonstrabismic accommodation and binocular vision anomalies in myopes. Methods: 67 myopes aged 18~35 years were randomly selected from the clinic, control group had 20 persons. For each subject, a symptom-questionnaire was taken before the examination of binocular vision, including: refraction, distance and near disassociated phoria, distance and near fusional convergence, vergence facility, near point of convergence, relative accommodation, accommodation facility and amplitude. Data were analyzed in light of Morgan normal values and Sheard criteria.Results:1. 27 subjects showed symptoms related with binocular anomalies, among which the prevalence of binocular dysfunction was 29.9%, accommodation anomalies was 23.9% .Basic exophoria , account for 48.1%, was the most common type of binocular anomalies.2. 18 asymptomatic subjects showed abnormal results, which should be closely followed-up at optometric clinics.3. There was statistically significance between emmetropes and myopes, and no difference among groups divided by different diopters. Conclusion: There was a high prevalence of accommodation and nonstrabismic anomalies in myopic population. We should not only correct the single eye vision but also improve binocular vision function.
