The Analysis And Study On Radiographs Of Temporomandibular Joint Before Orthodontic Treatment In Adolescents In Chengdu City

Purpose: The temporomandibular joint is always the research focus in stomatology. In clinic, we know the adolescent is at the stage of rapid growth and development and the radiographic appearance of temporomandibular joint may present a series of varieties in this period. The radiographic image of the temporomandibular joint of adolescents, compared with adults, is not always clear. It is easily confused with the image of the temporomandibular joint disorders. However, few researchers pay attention to this aspect. Therefore, it is necessary for us to know the radiographic appearance of the temporomandibular joint in adolescents.A great number of lateral transcranial radiographs of adolescents are colleted before orthodontic treatment in Chengdu city in this study The aim of the study is to know: (1) The width of the temporomandibular joint space and the movement range of the condyle in different age of adolescents.
