Objective:To evaluate the efficacy and feasibility of artificial prosthetic replacement for the treatment of intertrochanteric fracture in the aged by comparing the early postoperative complications and clinical results with the internal fixation group.Method:1. From Febuary 2004 to Febuary 2006, 69 cases of elder patients with intertrochanteric fracture were operated in our hospital, there were 21 males and 48 females ,aged 65~95 years, average 78.2 years. We divided those patients into two groups according to the different operation mode.The A group (n=45) patients were treated with internal fixation, the B group (n=24) patients were treated with artificial prosthetic replacement.The early postoperative complications and clinical results were comparied between the two groups.2.The early postoperative complications were divided into four parts.
