Laminin is a major basement membrane glycoprotein. Cells binds laminin through a variety of laminin receptor which are divided into two major groups: integrin and non-integrin receptors.the 67KD laminin receptor(67LRP) is a non-integrin receptor .It is widely existed on the cells surface of nomal cells,epithelial cells,endotheliocytes,neurocytes,macrophages and mostly tumor cells . A kind of cytoplasm protein of 37KD(37LRP) was found after 67LR.The conserved 37LRP is the precursor of the 67LR,but the exact manner by which it configures its mature form is not clear .It was suggested that acylation followed by homo or heterodimerization of the acylated 37LRP precursor ,by noncovalent bonds, forms the mature 67LR.The aminoacid sequence of the 37LRP precursor is extremely well conserved through evolution .The cDNA of the 37LRP is virtually identical to a cDNA encoding the ribosomal protein p40.People attach more and more importance to the LR especial the 67LR,because it plays an important role in tumor invasion by mediating essential tumor cells functions leading to metastases,besides , 67LR is also...
