[Background and Objective]: In our country, the prevalence of asphyxia newborns is about 7-10 percent. And about one third asphyxia newborns died, about three hundred thousand suffered from varied disabled , the results are very serious, and is the main cause of brain paralysis . decreased the death rate and sequelae .could produce great social economical benefits. The therapy of HIE is base on decreasing the apoptosis and putrescence of brain cells by using drugs and physical treatment, but do nothing on the died brain cells. So using NSC promote the regeneration of nerve cells is a new therapeutic channel. This research is base on progenitor' s reseach, used human umbilical cord blood derived stem cells as objective, Investigated The biological characteristics of human umbilical cord blood-derived mesenchymal stem cells; replicate credible hypoxic ischemic brain damaged animal model ; Explored human umbilical cord blood mesenchymal stem cells' colonization and differentiation after being transplanted into HIE rats brain. [Methods]: The immunophenotypes of human umbilical cord blood-derived mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) were determined by flow-cytometry scanner; Salvia miltiorrhiza was adapted to induce umbilical cord blood primary cultured cells to differentiate. The differentiated and undifferentiated cells were identified with immunocytochemistry; Blocked the blood circulation by ligatting the left common carotid artery, put the operated animal models into hypoxic surroundings...
