Effect Of Clearing Away Heat And Obviating Toxicity Therapy On Inflammatory Factors In Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

Objective : To investigate the serum tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) and interleukin-6 (IL-6) levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and to explore the effects of Qing Jie Decoction on serum TNF-α, IL-6 and other laboratory test indexes in type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods:Selected 50 type 2 diabetic patients with the syndrome of excessive heat-toxicity in interior as DM group and 35 normal persons at random as control group. Age , sex and BMI were matched between the two groups. Compare serum TNF-αand IL-6 levels of the two groups. The DM group patients were treated with Qing Jie Decoction. Self-pair trial was used to observe the curative effect. Clinical symptoms, serum TNF-α, IL-6, plasma glucose, HbA1c, fasting insulin (FIns), insulin resistance index (IRI), body mass index(BMI), blood lipids and blood rheology were measured before and after the treatment. Results: The serum TNF-αand IL-6 levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus were obviously higher than that in normal persons. Qing Jie Decoction can obviously improve the clinical symptoms, reduce serum TNF-α, IL-6, plasma glucose, HbA1C, FIns, IRI and BMI. Blood lipid and blood rheology were also improved. Conclusions:Qing Jie Decoction can obviously reduce the inflammatory factors in type 2 diabetic patients and improve insulin resistance.It takes effects in treating type 2 diabetes mellitus significently.
