| According to the traditional chinese medicine theory and the mechanism of tumors occurrence and development,along with its pathology characteristic after 60Co radiatio, such as Blood-injury, Qi-dificiency, Yin-harm, Blood-stasis, a mouse tumor was set up by implanting S180 cancer cell under the skins of the mice and some mice were irradiated 60Co radiation . We not only observed the influence of Shengyu Decoction on the life quality of mice with S180 sarcoma,measured the livability ,the tumor weight,the inhibitory rate of tumor, WBC count of mice and the avoirdupois and index of thymus and spleen,but also analyzed the influence on the tumor in microcosmic view by morphologic changes of histocyte and immunohistochemical method. We mean to provide some evidence about the effect and mechanism of chinese medicine which can support vital-qi and strength the body function combined with radiation on tumor inhibition and metastasis, The conclusion indicated that Shengyu Decoction had certain anti-tumor effect. The combined use of Shengyu Decoction and radiation could improve life quality of animals, control the growth of tumor, improve WBC count of mice and protect immune organs, inhibit the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)obviously. One of Shenyu Decoction,s main mechanism on tumor inhibition and metastasis might be relative to inhibiting the expression of VEGF .
