Objective Part one To explore methods of reconstructing ACL. Part two To evaluate the outcome of ACL reconstruction in vivo. Methods Part one fresh cadaver specimens of knee joint were divided randomly into three groups The anterior cruciation ligaments were reconstructed with 1/3 bone-patellar tendon-bone fixed with interference screws in Group one and with 1/3 bone-patellar ligament krackow locked bilateral suture in Group two. Group three which contained normal specimens was regarded as Control Group. All the specimens underwent a pull-extension test with a biomechanical test instrument, and then the results were compared among the three groups. Part two the adult canines were divided into three groups: 5 knee joint in Group one, 5 knee joint in Group two and 5 knee joint in Group three. The anterior cruciate ligaments in Group one were reconstructed with 1/3 bone-patellar ligament fixed with interference screws, the ones in Group two were transected, and the knees in Group three were kept normal. All animals were sacrificed after eight weeks postoperatively, and then histological examinations were carried out for all specimens. Results Part one The intensity and rigidity of the specimens in Group one were higher than those in Group three. Compared with...
