Objective To study the expression of B7 family's new member B7-H3mRNA and B7-H3 protein in the gastric carcinoma tissues.Methods The B7-H3 mRNA expression in the gastric carcinoma tissues and nearby normal tissues of 38 patients was detected by Real-Time RT-PCR and T lymphocyte subsets of preoperative peripheral blood was analyzed by flow cytometry. The B7-H3 protein expression was detected by immunohistochemistry assay.Results B7-H3 mRNA was expressed in both gastric carcinoma tissues and nearby normal tissues, but obviously it was much lower than that in nearby normal tissues. There was no statistic difference between all groups: sex, age, tumor size, tissue type and so on.. But, when the gastric carcinoma histology type was differentiated or the tumor diameter was less than 5 cm or there was no lymphaden metastasized, B7-H3 mRNA was highly expressed. Infiltration depth more deeper, B7-H3 mRNA expression was more lower. It was also found that B7-H3 mRNA expression was direct correlated to CD4(r=0.540,P=0.046)and CD4/CD8 (r=0.732,P=0.003)and inverse correlated...
