There are two parts in our study, the first part explores the morphological changes in a rabbit endovascular perforation model; while in part two is to discuss apoptosis of endothelial cells in a rabbit cerebral vasospasm model.Part one:Pathological changes of cerebral arteries in a rabbit endovascular puncture modelObjective:To investigate the longitudinal time course and morphological changes of cerebral artery after SAH in a rabbit endovascular puncture model.Material and Methods: Cerebral vasospasm model was produced after SAH by endovascular puncture method. 72 New Zealand White rabbits were divided into five groups(including 12h,1d,2d,3d,7d)。And according to the decision of whether to puncture artery, it was separated into SAH subgroup and control subgroup again. After perfusion-fixed, sectioned slices were examined by light microscopy to measure luminal narrowing and wall thickness of posterior communicating artery and basilar artery .Among them twelve pieces of right carotid arteries harvested in SAH group(n=10) and control group(n=2) were examined by TEM.Result:Among all, brains of 35 rabbits(including 25 rabbits with subarachnoid hemorrhage) were harvested. Posterior communicating artery and basilar artery showed luminal narrowing, which was the greatest in 12 hour after SAH, when the vessel diameter was reduced 43.6% and 51.82% respectively, comparing to control group. And narrowing was maintained throughout the rest of the study days. At the 7th day it peaked again, vessel diameter was reduced 29.32% and 45.19%;while the wall thickness was increased 56.95% and 44.33% respectively. Conclusion: We demonstrate that this model showes biphasic patterns to the luminal...
