| Objective: To investigate the inhibition effects of arsenic trioxide(ATO) on proliferation of myeloma cell line U266 and expression of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF); To investigate the difference of therapeutic effects for multiple myeloma(MM) between VAD-AA regimen that combination of ATO, antiscorbic acid (AA) with VAD regimen and traditional VAD regimen. Methods: In the nutritive mediums with different concentration of ATO, cultivating myeloma cell line U266 for different time, to observation the effects of ATO on proliferation of myeloma cell by the ways of cell counting and flow cytometry cell cycle analytic process and detect the VEGF level of the nutritive mediums above by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA); Based the experimental study above, to management the patients of MM with the VAD-AA regimen or VAD regimen as the initial treatments, the therapeutic effects would be evaluated by the Blade Standard formulated by European Cooperative Group for Bone Marrow Transplantation(EBMT).
