Objective : To study the pulmanory pathomorphology and intervention of salvianolic acid on bleomycin-induced pulmonary fibrosis in mice and rats. Methods : The pulmonary fibrosis model was established by intratracheal administration of bleomycin. The pulmonary index, the pathomorphology, the ultrastructure,SOD,MDA,HYP were measured and compared with that of the control group. The expression of TGFβ1,CollagenⅠ,CollagenⅢwere measured by means of immunohistochemistry technique. Results: (1) The pulmonary index was significantly decreased in salvianolic acid groups compared with that of model group(P<0.01,P<0.05);(2)Salvianolic acids could obviously reduced alveolitis and fibrosis and improve the pathomorphology and ultrastructure of animal model of pulmonary fibrosis; (3)Salvianolic acids can increase the activity of SOD and lower the amount of MDA in pulmonary tisse and serum(P<0.01,P<0.05);(4) Salvianolic acids could inhibit the increase of the expression level of TGFβ1(P<0.01,P<0.05); The level of collagenⅠandⅢin salvianolic acids groups was significantly lower than that in the model group(P<0.01,P<0.05);(5)The amount of HYP was significantly lower than that of model group(P<0.01,P<0.05).
