Objective: Cardiovascular function is altered significantly inthe hyperthyroid state. Hyperthyroidism is characterized by increased cardiac output and a reduction in total peripheral resistance . These changes are associated with increased peripheral tissue blood flow. Skeletal muscle blood flow has been reported to be elevated in hyperthyroid humans and animal models. Greater skeletal muscle blood flow has been found both at rest and during muscle contractions. In order to disclose the changes of the responsiveness of abdominal aorta and femoral arteries in hyperthyroid rats , we have set up the rat' s hyperthyroidism model with Euthyrox containing L- T4, to determine serum T3, T4 concentration, rat' s heart rate, systolic pressure, and compare the alterations in heart histomorphology , arterial contractile , diastolic responsiveness of abdominal aorta and femoral arteries in rats model.
