Rencently, zirconia ceramic had been a popular problem in prosthodontics research and was used increasingly in clinic. But up to now there were only four dental zirconia ceramic materials in market with relatively high prices. In view of this status, stomatological college of FMMU and Tsinghua University developed a new-style zirconia ceramic and glass for infiltration. Its mechanical and biochemical parameters were similar to the products in market. To make it practicable in clinic, the VITA veneering porcelain were applied to solve the color reproduction of this new style zirconia.Applying opaque porcelain, dentin porcelain and enamel porcelain of different thickness on the zirconia base, the effects of colour reproduction were evaluated respectively. The results are as follows:1. Dentin porcelain was prepared with the thickness of 0.6 mm, 0.8 mm, 1.0 mm, 1 .2 mm, and 1.4 mm respectively on the zirconia base. The color of the samples was measured with SF-300 spectrum colorimeter on standard white background. Results: While the thickness of porcelain samples increased, a~* and b~* values increased, L~* values decreased, and the chromatism between test groups and the control group decreased. Conclusion: When the thickness of dentin porcelain is 1.4 mm, the dental all-ceramic with the new type zirconia base will represent the color properly.2. Dentin porcelain was prepared with the thickness of 0.6 mm, 0.8 mm, 1.0 mm, 1.2 mm, and 1.4 mm respectively on the zirconia base applying with 0.2 mm opaque porcelain.
