Objective: Cervical vertigo which has complicated clinical symptoms usually accompanied with cervical myelopathy and its curative effect is uncertain because of poor diagnostic method. At present, the theory of cervical sympathetic nerve be stimulated has been supported generally, but, it could not explain all clinical symptom satisfactorily. According to the clinical observation and analysis of curative effect come from a large number of patients with cervical vertigo, we consider that the cervical posterior longitudinal ligament maybe play an important role in this sort of diseases. The sympathetic fiber which perhaps distribute in the cervical posterior longitudinal ligament maybe is the directed factor of the complicated clinical symptoms including cervical vertigo. The part one of present study intended to describe the characteristic of sympathetic fibers in the intervertebral discs of cervical vertebra and posterior longitudinal ligament by the specific fluorescence staining of sympathetic fiber, morphological observation and image analysis, so as to provide a foundation of the above theory. The part second of present study collected the information of thirty two patients who underwent anterior cervical discectomy and internal fixation for cervical vertigo, including the patient's condition, the method of operation and the information of follow-up visit, so as to evaluate the curative effect of this kind of surgery treating the cervical vertigo and analyzed the mechanism of action. Methods:Part â… 1. The staining of intervertebral disc of cervical vertebra and posterior longitudinal ligament using fluorescence histochemistry. The cervical posterior longitudinal ligament and intervertebral discs of eight male New Zealand rabbit (weighting 3000-3500g)were cut according to the segment of cervical vertebrae (C2/3, C3/4, C4/5, C5/6, C6/7).Cutting the posterior longitudinal ligament should from the central region of superior...
