Objective: To perform a research on animal models of acute superior mesenteric artery embolization with MSCT, to evaluate the diagnostic value of MSCT examination in acute superior mesenteric artery embolization. Methods: 1 .With seldinger technique, we embolized some branches and segment of the superior mesenteric artery of six mongrel dogs.2.Before and after embolization, DSA, MSCT examination were performed.3.The arterial images were reconstructed by two techniques, including MIP and VRT.4.Two radiologists judged the embolization results of DSA and MSCTA, and the sensitivity and specificity of DSA and MSCTA were calculated by grid method. Results: 1 .The models were successfully established in all six canines.2.The difference in sensitivity of DSA, VRT and MIP was not statistically significant (p>0.05).3. The difference in specificity between DSA and two reconstruction methods was not statistically significant (p>0.05).Conclusion: 1. With seldinger technique, the models were successfully established in all six canines.2.MSCT examination can display superior mesenteric artery and its second class branch clearly. MSCTA can diagnose acute superior mesenteric arterial embolization.
